A Grey reef shark patrols the shallow sandflats in search of food. Sharks utilise their advantage they have over prey in shallow waters. There is less space for the prey to escape... So contrary to the idea that its safer to swim in shallower water, a majority of shark species actually prefer to hunt in shallow water adjacent to land.
