Cave of Jewels
Deep underground in complete darkness, only torchlight illuminates the impressive jewels in this cave. Stalactites and stalagmites form when limestone is eroided from rainfall and then redeposited in these spectacular formations. Stalactites protrude from the roof of the cave while stalagmites are formed when the water droplets containing dissolved calcium carbonate reach the ground. As they grow over time they will eventually form a column if a stalactite reaches a stalagmite.
