An empty left hander peels down the reef on a remote tropical island.  Coconut Palms are often the symbol for tropical island destinations and warm weather. They are however not just an aesthetic tree, and provide essential erosion protection to low lying tropical islands. As sea level gradually rises and severity and frequency of large tropical storms  increases, the extensive root systems of these palms are the frontline to retaining sand and preserving these islands.
